Tom Walker says he owes Kate Middleton ‘a lot of time’ after working with Carol
TOM Walker believes he owes the Duchess of Cambridge royalties after boosting his party song on the charts.
The couple joined in a surprise collaboration on their track For They Who Can’t Be Here for ITV’s Royal Carols: Together At Christmas on Friday – and the song has climbed the charts ever since.
Tom said: âIt’s been so well received that I probably owe him royalties now. She sent me a letter thanking me for the opportunity, but it should be me thanking her.
âThe song jumped 57 places on the charts. It was a wonderful experience and she was so warm. She made the effort to thank all the musicians but it was us who felt so grateful to be a part of something so special.
âWe met for a rehearsal beforehand and I gave her a recording of the piece without the piano part so that she could practice. It was obvious that she had taken the time to perfect it. She was brilliant.
âYou think the Royal Family hardly gets nervous, they’re so used to the spotlight. But it was obviously a very different new experience for her.
Kate came up with the idea after meeting Tom at a charity event for Action On Addiction, where he performed his single Leave A Light On.
Next year Tom will return to the studio before “hopefully” embarking on a tour, Covid permitting.
Jordan has no hope as the party king
JORDAN North has built a solid reputation as a resident Caner on Radio 1 – but he hands that title to drivetime co-host Vick Hope.
The finalist DJ and I’m A Celeb admitted he couldn’t keep up with Vick, who is a much taller party animal than him.
He said in an exclusive conversation: âThe few times we’ve dated, she’s always been the one that stayed the most recent.
âI’m the DJ for Radio 1 who arrives at two in the morning and goes on the air the next day with a hangover.
âBut I have to admit and be kind in the defeat that she’s on the next level. She can really party.
“But I’ll be happy to finish second behind Vick – she’s the queen of the party.”
Recognizing that Jordan couldn’t keep up, Vick added, âI actually spent an evening with Jordan. We got there, had a few drinks and spotted some people I knew and before I knew it he was gone.
âI ended up going out until about six in the morning. I don’t know what happened to Jordan. We also had a team drink recently and Jordan asked us to go see a house.
Whatever their evenings, Jordan said he was having the best time since returning to the show in September.
He said: âVick makes me laugh every day and I’m really excited so we really appreciate him.
“It’s going really well, the best job in the world.”
Darin’s call is Ab Fab
Swedish pop star Darin got the ultimate seal of approval when ABBA’s AGNETHA FALTSKOG gave her a bell to reveal she was a fan.
The Holding Me More singer received an unexpected phone call from her fellow Swede while he was working on music in a studio near her home.
He said to me, âI was recording in the same studio where they were recording some of their big hits at the time, and one of her best friends owns the studio.
“She came over and said, ‘Hey, are you okay if my friend talks to you a little? She just wants to say hello. And I thought he was a fan so sure, and I said, ‘Hi, what’s your name?’
“She said ‘Agnetha Faltskog’ and I was like ‘Oh, I know who you are.’
âShe was so sweet and it was such a surreal moment.
“Apparently she had listened to my music, which was pretty cool.”
Ashley’s Lucky Dive
ASHLEY Roberts had a blast this Christmas taking off on an exotic vacation for a well-deserved break.
The Pussycat Dolls singer shared snaps of herself, including one in her private pool, and told fans, “Send Santa the location of the pin.”
Feel free to pass it to me, too, Ashley.
The weather here puts a real brake on my festive mood.
Spider-Man marvels at the qualities of the Oscars
TOM Holland’s latest adventure film is officially the biggest movie of the year – and it already mentions the âO-wordâ.
Spider-Man: No Way Home was released a fortnight ago and became Sony’s highest-grossing film at the box office.
Leader Tom said, âI’ve done Marvel movies and I’ve also made movies that have been in the conversation in the Oscar world.
âThe only difference, really, is that one is a lot more expensive than the other. But the way I break down the character, the way the director draws the arc of the story and the characters – it’s the same thing, just done on a different scale. So I think they are real art.
I’m not sure the Oscar snobs will understand your point of view Tom, but I certainly do.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is his third round as a superhero and it’s the best movie to release this year.
So it’s no surprise that yesterday the blockbuster turned out to have grossed over $ 1 billion in global sales.
If you haven’t seen it yet, go buy a ticket.
You will not be disappointed.
Rylan judges the strip contest
RYLAN Clark was asked to spot talent when he spent the night judging a club strip contest.
The presenter, who split from her husband this year, also posed with drag queen Son of a Tutu, a suspicious-looking Santa Claus and club owner Jeremy Joseph and his dog backstage at the nightclub. gay Heaven Thursday.
In recent months, the London club have become a favorite for Rylan, who danced onstage with a drag queen at a boozy party a few weeks ago.
He later said his hangover was so bad that he insisted he wouldn’t be partying for a while. Obviously, it didn’t last long – but I don’t blame him.
Getting the most of the single life is probably exactly what he needs.
