NEWCOMERSTOWN – Want to own your own school bus? Now is your chance!

The Newcomerstown Exempt Village School District is offering a host of items, including several school buses, in an online auction that ends at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14.

The online auction is available at www.kaufman-auctions.com or directly at https://www.kaufman-auctions.com/project/details/57347.

Items range from buses and trucks to tractors, zero turn mowers, desks, chairs (in the hundreds), air compressor, cafeteria lunch trays, basketball hoops (current offer $ 1) and woodworking supplies including sander, drill press, saw plus 20 Stanley and Craftsman hand planes.

One of the buses is a 2005 Blue Bird showing nearly 180,000 miles, with a current bid of $ 575. Another is a 2009 Blue Bird with only 66,000 miles but leaking radiator, with a bid of $ 1,550, and many other items.

There’s even an exit sign, with a current bid of $ 5.

Cruise-In

The next Cruise-In event scheduled for this year at the empty lot at 641 Heller Drive in Newcomerstown will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on July 10. Further Cruise-In events are scheduled for August 7, September 4, and October 9.

Events will feature music, art and are sponsored by April’s Country Kitch’n, Brian Lowe of HER Realtors, Hill Valley Auto, Mike’s Body Shop, Beach City Iron Works, Dobbins Aerial Photography, Jim’s Towing and Morgan Landscaping.

Souvenir shop

The Olde Main Street Museum gift shop, 213 W. Canal St. in Newcomerstown, is open seasonally, until September 4. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday noon to 4 p.m. and for special events.

Pool party

The Home Plate Project is planning a poolside party from 5 to 10 p.m. on July 30, including a nightfall glow party.

There will be music, prizes, food trucks including Kona Ice, and a local vendor’s market starting at 5 p.m., and more.

Recycling bins

Newcomerstown recycling bins have been moved to 777 E. State St, next to the Water Department Office. There is a white picket fence with a gate you will enter to drop off your recycling materials. At the moment, it will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
