Ice Storm in Goldsboro, NC, Wins Grand Prize in Blue Bunny Contest


GOLDSBORO – A Goldsboro glacier has won first prize in a national competition to help glaciers that have positively impacted their communities recover from the coronavirus pandemic.

Ice cream company Blue Bunny announced on Sunday that the Ice Storm is the big winner of its “The heart of pleasure” contest.

The Ice Storm will receive $ 55,000 in prizes, including a refreshment of its store at 116 S. Center St., a $ 20,000 grant, a public ice cream party and a celebration to reveal the ice cream parlor’s new look. .

National Ice Cream Day is Sunday. To celebrate, Blue Bunny is opening a $ 1,000 tab Thursday for the public to come out and have fun. Free ice cream will be available on a first come, first serve basis until the bill is exhausted.

Another public celebration, accompanied by free ice cream, music and other entertainment, will take place on July 31 to reveal the store’s new look.
